Hikurangi Machinery Clearance Auction

HMCA Logo Concepts-3.png

The 2026 Hikurangi Machinery Clearance Auction has now wrapped up, and we’re delighted to share that the event raised $16,000 for our community. After covering expenses and making donations to support the Māori Wardens and the Lions, $12,000 is being contributed to the restoration of the old BNZ building.

This is a fantastic result for a first‑time event, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support shown across our community.

With such a strong response and a great turnout, we’re hopeful this will grow into an annual event for Hikurangi. The backing from sellers, buyers, volunteers and sponsors has shown there’s real appetite for a machinery auction in our district, and we look forward to building on this success in the years ahead.

On-site Information for Auction Day

Recent weather has left the ground wet and sodden, and we do not expect significant improvement before event day. Please be aware this may affect vehicle movements and pedestrian access across the site.

  • Footwear: We strongly recommend gumboots.

  • Accessibility: Due to the soft ground, wheelchairs and mobility‑impaired visitors may find access and movement challenging.

  • Vehicle Access:

    • 4WD vehicles only will be permitted on-site.

    • 2WD vehicles must park on the roadside or in the gravel pit located 200m west of the entrance.

  • Dogs: No dogs are permitted on-site, including during drop-offs prior to the event.

  • Smoke, Alcohol & Drug Free: This is a smoke‑free, alcohol‑free, and drug‑free event. Anyone not adhering to these rules will be asked to leave.

Postponement Plan:
If postponement is required, the backup date is Sunday 26 April. A final decision will be announced by 3pm on Thursday via our Facebook page and on the website.
