Hikurangi Community Shuttle
Getting to Whangārei from Hikurangi
The Hikurangi Community Shuttle helps locals get into Whangārei for appointments, shopping, and everyday errands. It runs on Mondays and Wednesdays when bookings are made, so please book at least 24 hours ahead.
This is a community service run by volunteers through Friendship House, keeping the service going for anyone who needs a ride into town. It’s there for anyone who doesn’t drive, has limited transport, or simply needs a reliable ride into town. Pick ups are usually from your home in the Hikurangi area, and drop offs are arranged around where you need to be in Whangārei.
A koha towards fuel is appreciated and helps keep the shuttle running.
