Hikurangi Rugby Football Club is known for its fantastic, welcoming culture. One Club. One Vision. One Purpose. The club is a cornerstone of the Hikurangi community, creating a place where players, whānau and supporters feel at home.
Founded in 1894, the club has a long and proud history in Northland rugby, with 34 senior championships and 31 runners‑up. Today it caters to players of all ages and abilities, from our youngest U5s right through to senior grades.
Seniors
- Premier Men’s and Reserve Men’s teams (March to July)
- Premier Women’s team relaunched in 2026
- U18s team
- 7s team (September to November)
- 10s team (January and February)
- Golden Oldies (October and November)
- Senior training runs year‑round on Tuesday and Thursday evenings
Juniors
- Rally starts in February
- Grades from U5 to U13
- 11 junior teams in2026 season
- Junior season runs May to August
- Trainings begin in April on Thursday afternoons
Facilities
Clubrooms and grounds are available for hire for community events and functions.

The club is dedicated to supporting players in reaching their potential and providing rugby opportunities that strengthen community connection and belonging. Rugby has been part of Hikurangi’s past and will continue to be part of its future.
