Whakapara Country Garden Club

A friendly Northland gardening group that meets monthly and welcomes new members. In the warmer months the Club heads out for garden visits around the district, and in winter everyone gathers at Whakapara Hall for shared lunch, good company, and plenty of gardening chat. You’ll find the Hall just off SH1 on McLennan Road, Whakapara 0182.

Alongside club activities, members also help maintain local gardens, including the Jack Morgan Museum garden, on a regular basis

Meets on the 4th Thursday of each month, except December.
Jan–Apr & Oct: Garden visits

Competitions at Hall Meetings
When the Club meets at Whakapara Hall (May–September), members can take part in light‑hearted monthly competitions. Sections include shrubs, flowers, floral art, foliage, garden art, fruit and vegetables, with simple categories like large or small blooms, themed arrangements, and small or large produce.
